Happy Super Bowl 2013 XLVII and .co's day!

Happy Super Bowl 2013 everyone! It's time to watch the Baltimore Ravens, and the San Francisco 49ers battle it out on the field for the Super Bowl championship title. I have a pretty eventful day ahead as my girlfriend and I are going to the animal shelter to foster a cat, and this evening I will be watching the Super Bowl. Fostering animals is a pretty cool thing you can do to help give them a nice place to stay (usually 4 - 8 weeks, but sometimes more), while the animal waits to be permanently adopted by another person. We would prefer permanently adopting a cat of our own, but at the moment, we are living in an apartment that charges a $400 non refundable deposit for any animal. So we have decided just to foster so my girlfriend can have a cat (which she loves all cats by the way) until we get a house of our own that doesn't require a deposit, and allows the animal to have an inside and outside to roam. On another note SUPER BOWL SUNDAY 2013 and the broadcasting of the Go Daddy Perfect Match commercial that has been getting so much attention is happening today.

Since Go Daddy is broadcasting the commercial about registering "Your big idea .co" tonight during the half time show of the Super Bowl, I decided I would include some of my favorite .co domains I own today in this blog. I have had most of these a while and have some pretty good key word .co names. Feel free to list your .co domains in the comments section of this blog if you are looking to sell them, or if you just want to showcase your portfolio.

Go Daddy's Super Bowl Sunday Commercial

As most of you already know Go Daddy pre released a commercial that will be aired during the half time show of this years Super Bowl XLVII 2013. Typically more than 100 million people tune in to watch this large event every year, and this year the well renowned domain registry Go Daddy (The web's largest hosting and registration provider) will be airing their domain commercial inspiring people to register "Your big idea.co." The commercial shows the .co logo on screen during the whole commercial, and this is to promote the open canvas of the .co extension. Although it promotes all domains and Go Daddy in general, .co has been marketed largely over the last year. The canvas is filling up quickly with over 1 million .co's domains already registered. Here are the two videos Go Daddy released.

About a week after these commercial started being widely spread throughout the domaining community Name.com another great and well known registry in the industry released their parody of the Go Daddy commercial. I'll post the video below so you can check it out for yourself. In my opinion all three videos are pretty clever and funny, and I find them all watch worthy. This is one reason I enjoy the domain industry. So many unique and great ideas coming from different directions, but all leading back to the domains.

Pretty excited to see the Go Daddy commercial broadcasted during the half time show. It's going to be pretty cool and interesting to see if the amount of .co registered domains increases, and by how much after it's aired. Let me know what you think about these commercials. The Name.com parody made me laugh pretty hard. Have a great day!

Best regards,

2012 ccTLD purchases

I have recently picked up some new domains that I believe have some potential. Although they are not all .com's most of them are highly searched keywords or phrases. I am going to list them in this blog and you can let me know what you think. I am not looking for criticism saying things like, "those will never sell, blah, blah, blah..." believe me, I have already though about that. It was a risky speculation on my part. I know that .com is still King and agree with Rick Schwartz on that matter. I just know that there is some value in ccTLD's sometimes as well if they have a nice enough exact search rank and meet the need of an end user or investor in a specific country. You can see this as a truth by navigating the sales on DNJournal. Although I haven't seen any big .asia sales ever reported on the DNJournal or on any other website for that matter, I took a speculative risk on some of these buys, and I can't guarantee a profit for anyone on buying keyword .asia names, but there is always a possibility. Especially since Asia has been for many years, and is becoming an even bigger place of international business in the world, and also covers a lot of different countries. So here are the keyword .asia domains and other ccTLD's I have purchased throughout 2012.

.asia - Asia
401K.asia - 246,000 exact searches and Asia also has 401K plans similar to the U.S.
